Just curious what corals you would never add to your tank again. I know there are several I wouldn't add again after my experiences throughout the years. I've even seen some acros grow out of control.. Please share your experience :)

GSP. Shouldn't be able to sell it

Palys are the worst. The island doesn't work from my experience. They will frag themselves.

I have only comes across one that deserves to be in the special category of “cannot be controlled” - Blue Cloves…. They grow super fast and spread across the tank (water borne). Everything else can be managed with some planning and effort. Even blue cloves can be eradicated with fenbendazole
The key is to keep the aquascape modular, so if you have to pull a structure to scrape off GSP or take out Texas trash palys, you can do that. It generally takes couple of hours and some Tupperware to get it done. Enjoy the corals that you like but plan out the aquascape.
The problem is when we get lazy and procrastinate while things are getting out of control in front of us :)

As someone yet to populate a tank with salt, and has already seen the perils of stocking Xenia and blue cloves, just how difficult is it to put down the banhammer on GSP that has strayed off the path?

Discoma mushrooms. They kill palys, gsp, aiptasia, hammers...

I can't isolate them, they just bud off as tiny babies and land anywhere. I thought they would play well together, green striped killed off a bumpy variety and now the big reds have been covering the green striped and pushing them around.

Yellow parazoanthids not only do they grow fast some people think it’s aiptasia. Honorable mention to pandora zoas.

GSP is easy to control. It grows in a mat that peels right off.
