Yeah. It doesn't look like a fly though. Antennae are red and longer than a fly's would beDo you have an open top tank? Almost looks like the remains of an insect.
No shrimp in the tank. At first i thought it was part of a mantis shrimp molt but I started with all dry rock and dipped all of my corals.Looks like a cricket to me, there are a lot of insects that can and do make into aquariums.
Do you have any shrimp?
I have to agree it looks terrestrial. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that has a noggin that big. Ew.
Based on the size of the palys or zonathid located next to the unknown, that would be one big isopod to come in on a frags. Have you seen any isopods on your fish? Just not sure, I know there are parasite isopods but I would think you would notice that. In the wild they can be in the oral cavity but I would think that would be apparent as well.
Hmm just not sure.
I literally just set up the tankThere's only two antennae and they seem pretty stiff, so I don't think it's a eunice. Most aquatics critters don't have antennae that would be that long and that stiff. There's just something about it that doesn't look right.
That's just plain ole nasty. I think you should just torch the tank and move.
Reach in and remove it,
If it's still in the same spot pull it and take an image, perhaps that will put you more at ease.
Of course you wouldAhhhh come on. We would in a heart beat.![]()
You'll be fine, I guarantee it. Well, I mostly guarantee it anyways.
