Sorry about the thread name typo. My first ever corals came in a bit ago. And I spotted this

What am I looking at? Kinda looks like some sort of starfish to me.

Pest or benign hitchicker?
Cuz now I’ve found several on a few of my new corals.

They harm nothing. Some of them get larger. I have seen one about 4 inches in my tank. I was always happy to have them.
Finding things like brittle stars and keeping them is a big part of why I do this.

Also one of my corals came with a snail in the bag. Do I trust it? I’m not even sure what kind it is.

not the best pic I know but it’s black has the generic snail shell shape, and it’s got its own little trap door if that helps.

better pictures of the snail would help ID it. The brittle stars are free CUC but like others said some get bigger. If you have a larger tank then probably won't be an issue with the star.

Not sure what that one is went through the common bad snails and nothing matches maybe someone else will know. This is not the end all be all list but it seems to be the most common ones.
