found this in my sump tank what the heck is it

Tough call. Maybe pull one out of the sump and put it in a shallow bowl and get better photos?
 
Could be pineapple sponges. If so they are good. I have plenty in my overflow.

That was my first thought as they are common in newer systems and also common in sumps. But they don't look exactly like I would have expected. In the distant photos they look more like some kind of flat worm.

Dirt Man, give us some kind of info about them. Do they move? Are they fixed to the glass? Are they hard or soft? Do they move when you touch them?
 
Pineapple sponge commonly found in sumps and are filter feeders and often signify good water quality
