Pest? Snail/Slug ID

I saw him tonight after lights out; He's big, with some frilly things on his back, never seen anything like it this size before. He's probably the size of a nickle.

Any advice is appreciated
 
The shell region looks too small to be a fleshy limpet, plus their external tissue is generally evenly distributed around the shell, in the picture, the tissue trails behind it. Doesn't this look similar, its a baby sea hare?

But isn't that a sea hare? Fleshy limpets have exposed shells (from what I've seen)
 
Slugs are hard, they all look the same and as babies they can be really hard to tell apart. Evolution really dropped the ball on that.
