Hello,

I have this really annoying purple entrusting sponge in my tank, it keeps multiplying and it getting everywhere. It was only on a couple of rocks in the beginning which I bleached. Its now on/in every rock and filter. I'm afraid of it overgrowing corals plus its really ugly. Is there anything that will eat them?

Might be black sponge then. Grows fast and can leave a wicked sting sometime when you touch it. Not everytime, but I've been stung afew times by it. Feels similar to chemical burn in my experience. If you can, remove the rock for a few days to try to kill it off.

Dang but its on all my rock, no inverts or fish that would eat it?

Some angelfish, or nudibranch eat sponge but not sure if they will eat black sponge. Sorry I cant help more.

Maybe take to rocks out of the tank for like 2-3 minutes? Sponges allegedly die when exposed to air

Tried that, tried scrubbing, tried leaving in tap water overnight. Nothing seems to kill them and when you disturb them, a purple dust comes off them and sprouts more
