Do you dip your corals prior to adding them to your DT?

Yup, haven't added anything in a few months either. May just be from snoty algae building up on them. I turkey baste daily and am working on a reduction strategy. I thought at one point it may have been redbugs so I dumped some dr.g's in twice at 1 ml per gallon. Kinda just wondering if theses have any indications or tell tale signs of pests or if they're just a few of the many acros I have have killed lol

It's hard to tell without very close up pics, but picture #3 looks like red bugs.

I just dipped that one prior to taking that picture and nothing really happened to the dots. I scrapped at them with a fork too, think they're algae but these tiny red lines 3/8" appear on some and not sure what they could be. Dip and fork resistant red lines lol

What dip did you use?

Looks like red cyano from the pics, not a pest, but can stress corals. No need to dip just keep them in a higher flow area and blow the algae off daily to keep it from covering the coral.

Thanks! Not cyano though. Very thin red lines. Will not come off even with a knife.

Can you turn off your blues and take another pic? I probably wont be of too much help but for documentation purposes it would be nice to have a clear picture of the issue.

Cyano can get very thin and stringy. If you have any growing in your tank small pieces can blow around and grab hold on stressed acros or ones with receded tissue. You would need to shake the coral vigorously or hold in front of a powerhead to get it to come off. I agree a clearer photo would make it easier to identify, if possible.
