When I started I saw these little starfish and little tubes on my rocks, vermetid snails and asternia.
I loved the asternia and the vermetid looked pretty, I knew they all could cause an outbreak but I didn't mind
now the vermetid, they started getting so ugly and now, oh and now
I've started noticing the red speck asternia, and they have been munching on my zoas
I have over 300 dollars worth of zoas coming tuesday and I cannot find a Harlequin shrimp in stock ANYWHERE, except a super bad company
I'm so frustrated honestly

Not to throw shade, but why would you spend any amount of money on zoas when you have something in your tank that eats zoas? If it is really $300, you can buy a mushroom box from zen reef and etc. It's an acrylic box that closes and has water flow. Get the clear version.

Or get a floating plastic acclimation box from your lfs and use that. Turn down the lights so you don't destroy them while you fix your problem.

I ordered them before I noticed them eating my zoas
Also none of that will work, they can still get in
I really just posted this to vent. I have solutions
I'm just frustrated

Best to get them star at night with foot long tweezers they do populate like mad love LPS and SPS and feed at night but I see no evidence of them ever harming soft Coral the snail break the tube get sixline wrasse some bumble bee snails they are hard to rid out of tank but never witnessed any harm to any Coral just a bunch of ugly webs filter feeding off of particles get to love wrasse they do a great job

I got three bumble bee snails a month ago and they completely destroyed that whole problem. Still fighting stars with manual removal, I see them on my zoas and you can pick them up and see zoas in their mouth. For mine atleast

them stars i think are worse then the snails never seen them eat zoas you have little white stars right
