PETCO Clownfish allways die

Hey guys i live in Hawaii so my LFS options are limited to petco. I have never been able to keep anything alive that came from their tanks.I have no clue why. Their Sg is 1.017 when mine is 1.022 they ship their fish 3-5 day shipping .I had a fire clownfish that came from theiR tanks and it came down with oodinium,I think. Does anyone know where I can get any clownfish that aren't from petco clowns.

Live aquaria may ship to you. Funny I thought living somewhere like Hawaii would mean more fish available. I live in Ohio and have 5 saltwater stores within 15 mins

Are they dying in QT or your display tank?

It really depends in the store and its staff. I run my petcos fish dep and my place is cleaner than most. I even have fish spawning in the store on a regular basis even with the high volume of fish that may go through any particular tank through the weeks.
That said, I can't stress enough the need for a qt tank and some proactive treatments. I qt everything unless they are captive bred and come directly from the farm to my tank.
You can always ask the employee to let you know when the new shipment arrives and go there before try release them. that's what I do for all my special order customers. That way you can either bring it home in the shipping bag/water, then quickly bring it home and acclimate. However, if you've already introduced pathogens to your tank, they will more than likely get it as they never built up immunity to such things as they've never been exposed at the farm.
