Petco Dollar Per Gallon

Does anyone know of Petco is running a $1 per gallon sale this week?

Not sure, but I just want to give you a heads up on the quality of those tanks being made. Inspect the tank for the silicone. Last time I looked at 20g high tanks. I went to 3 Petcos. I bought one and had to bring it back, because one end of the glass was way off. What I thought was going to be a quick exchange, nope. The other tanks there were garbage. Went to another one and they were all sloppy. Went to the next one. They had 2 tanks with chipped glass. I told the manager. They never pulled them off the shelf.

Looks like the quality is pretty iffy on those Aqueon tanks? Didn't they used to be All-Glass way back when?

I was waiting for that sale in order to get a couple to use for a sump and refugium. I hope it isn't this week, I am going out of the country and would hate to miss it.

I just thought they might be running one for Memorial Day. I am running 2 20L from there without issue. I also have a 40B that is waiting to be drilled and set up. I was going to buy another 20L for its sump. I will have to take a good look at the 40B now before I put any effort into it.

The 40B I got from them cracked. Make sure it is level as close to perfect as possible. Mine was a hair off, but still within the level lines.

Same here, I first bought one of the only 40 breeders they had in stock at the store closest to me. A few weeks later walked in to a store with a huge inventory and cherry picked the tank with the best panel alignment. After I drilled it and was installing, sunlight was shining on the front seams, and they had bubbles in them. I went back to the first tank that I still had sitting around. The panel alignment isn't perfect, but it has good silicone at least. I guess I can't expect a $50 tank to be perfect....

Aqueon IS All Glass ..... or was.

U get what u pay for. I wouldn't purchase one at regular price. I have several that I use for different things with no problems. Great utility tanks.

I stopped in today and there was no sale. They said there hasn't been one in a while so to check back weekly. I will keep this thread updated when I find one in case anyone is interested.

Hopefully soon! I called the petco in Flint MI, and they gave no idea when the sale will pop up again.

just FYI last time the 40br and 55 where not the 1per gallon still on sale quite a bit. I remember someone says it was $59 for a 40br dont quote me on that price just FYI. they seem to have them a lot 4-5 X a year. one was in spring so its probably coming mid summer or fall that the latest.

Should be by the end of the month. My notes say I picked up my 40 breeder 1 year ago as of July 28th. I know that was during the sale for sure, the employees were all amazed at how much I saved as that was still when they were $1 a gallon. The price went from over $115 down to $40, lol.

Bought 3x 20 gallons last year also about a week later to use for qt tanks or other emergencies. Those were $1 per gallon according to my notes. This sale usually lasts a month. Or until the store runs out of stock.

I was also told they'd be having one by mid/late this month. Don't expect the 40 or larger to be $1/gal though, they've changed it to something like 50% off the larger tanks.

***ALERT ALERT ***

It's happening right now in my area southern CA! Of course I already just got three used tanks for $40. ahh what the heck, I got another 20 long. I now have six empty aquariums in my house.
