Petco rescue, two tangs

Ok then yes I would check for flukes. The other plus is even if you don’t see flukes and he stops flashing after the dip then you’ll know it’s most likely a parasite and not just irritation.
I did the freshwater dip, she definitely had more more energy this time and was harder to catch. There was a small amount of debris on the bottom of the tank that got stirred up and got into the freshwater container when I transferred her so I'm not 100% certain if I saw flukes in there or not. It looked like it was possible though. It really stressed her out this time, I've turned off the lights so she can calm down.

Fellow R2R members and @Mjrenz

I want to give a shout out to the following R2R members for joining in with me to secure the purchase of this set up to assist Matt and his family with a better place to enjoy the tangs in their regained health!

@JBKReef
@Dolelo96
@Robb1414
@tdlawdo
@Seadoc

All the others that are continuing to offer up equipment in this endeavor!

Joe at Fish World in VA for helping to connect us up with this nice setup.

And also we should recognize all the R2R people on this thread, including BOTH the official and unofficial Reefsquad that have continued to offer assistance in many ways including kinds words support!

And of course Matt for showing us all that a large heart and supportive family can accomplish an almost impossible task!

I was thinking 15 gallons

I have a credit for Petco that would cover 1 tank, but your store is out of the 15. They do have 20’s. Looks like one is long and the other is short (can’t find the specs). Dont know if that’s too big

I would like to say thank you to each and every one of you. This really has been an amazing experience and I really hope everything continues in the right direction for these poor little fish

I could fit a 20 long, that is great of you to offer!

Thank you Mjrenz for showing me (a complete beginner in this hobby), what exceptional husbandry is.

I thought I had a grasp on husbandry until I joined this forum, everyone here has taught me so much. Not just about husbandry but also that there still are a lot of good people in the world willing to lend a helping hand

If he no longer flashes then you’ll know if it is flukes still. The shorter 3 hour 2nd dose may not have been enough to finish them off. Let me know.

Do you think I should do another fwd this evening, maybe after doing a good vacuuming in the tank? Also, do you think I should order some fenbendazole to have just incase?

I would wait to see the results of last nights FW dip, is he currently flashing or did it stop? I’m not sure you’ll need fenbendazole but you may need to re dose your Prazi treatments

So far I haven't seen any more flashing

I would observe until this afternoon. If the flashing had stopped then it was more than likely flukes that got through the short second dose. Unfortunately that means two more Prazipro treatments 5-7 days apart to end its lifecycle.
If you want to do fenbendazole you can as it’s gentle on fish. It’s dosed 125mg per gallon for a 12 hour bath (Recommend a bucket).

I wouldn’t do another freshwater dip so soon, repeated dips can be stressful and you really need her immune system working full strength to get ahead of that infection.

If you feel you need to treat again... perhaps general cure would work better with less of an impact on the 02 in the tank. Or, if you want to try the fenbendazole that would work as a bath in a separate container.

Maybe you can grab that 20L tank that’s being offered, and treat with the bath in transit to the bigger tank. That way you can pre-dose the abx in the new tank, and little Dory will be less stressed and have a more forgiving water volume.

For now, I would just give her some time to recover while you decide on your next steps.

@Mjrenz I have dealt with difficult flukes that Prazipro would not kill about the same time that Frdtrmrose7 was doing the same. We both tried different approaches to successfully kill them. After the treatment I did see an occasional flash that was likely due to some irritation left behind from the flukes. So if you see it and it does not continue on - likely there was some other irritant causing it.

You have come a long way and are getting very solid guidance so keep following those sage words!
