Ugh, hopefully she can make it that long. I suspect from the timeline the flukes have reinfected her gills and from previous infections her gills are probably in pretty bad shape. Let us know how she is after the MB bath.
It's supposed to be here tomorrow

Just finished the bath and she's back in the tank. I dropped the salinity to 1.017, she swam for a hiding spot right away when she went back in and does already seem to have more energy. It could be some debris getting kicked up but it almost looked like flukes were coming out of her gills.

I would aerate the tank as heavily as possible to help account for possible decreased gill function. As much as a FW dip helps it could also hurt a weak fish with flukes possibly in the gills. I don’t think I would do that unless absolutely necessary, hopefully the MB bath will get her through until the fenbendazole arrives.

The only option for fenbendazole until tomorrow is the canine dewormer

The last fwd was on Saturday and she has seemed fine until today, I used tank water for the MB bath I just gave her

Can you post a pic of the ingredients? I’ll compare it to my fenbendazole

Ok I can get you some Mebendazole. “Telmintic” from my Veterinary years. This is how it is dosed corroborated in Dr Noga’s book. Bath - 380mg/gallon and treat for 10 minutes. Prolonged immersion - 3.8mg/gallon and treat for 24 hours.

Let me know if you want some called in for you today. I am going to be traveling to pick up my Tangs from QT station this afternoon so better for me in the am.

Hopefully others can chime in if they think you need it and it’s worth it. You will have to crush and weigh the pill I’ll give instructions on that if we get to it.

Compare this dose to 95mg/gallon for 12 hours of the fenbendazole for mongeneans waterborne treatment.

If you could call in a script that would great! I have to leave for work so I won't be able to pick it up or do anything until later this afternoon. Worst case, if I'm advised not to use it, we have some time for other opinions. Thank you!

Thank you everyone for your quick responses! She's swimming a bit right now and is nibbling at her breakfast, I think dropping the salinity and the MB bath helped! I'm glad my wife saw her in distress so early and I was able to do something before I had to leave

She is getting her color back and does have more energy right now

I think I would hold off for the Thomas Labs fenbendazole. 22.2% is pretty low and leaves me wondering what makes up the other 78%.

If there is specific dosage instructions here, and it can be done before you can get the fenbendazole- it’s worth a try!

If you still have her 5g tank, I would set that back up for the 24-hour bath... then transfer her back to the 20g and resume antibiotics. I’m thinking it will be best to break down and clean the 20g with vinegar during the bath, then re-fill and start fresh.

Unfortunately, this means any bio-filter you’ve built up this far will be gone, so you’ll need more bio-spira and to keep a close eye on ammonia after she’s moved back.

I agree, I would pass on the canine dewormer... you can request a SDS via phone, but without a full ingredient list it’s risky...

The alert badge hasn't shown any ammonia, 25% wc last night. She looks a little pale and I haven't seen any flashing yet last couple of days. Can't see any other signs of disease
Don't trust the alert badge they aren't very accurate you should also test the water.

You just answered every question that I was going to ask about the bath! I just got more biospira yesterday from @Mastiffsrule

I have the api drops for ammonia but I remember reading that they typically are quite inaccurate when there's medicine in the tank

Mostly copper, but the furan-2 might make it difficult to read as well since it discolors the water.

I just changed it about 50% of the water to drop the salinity, I haven't added any more abx yet. If you want me to add more right now I can stop back by house
