Auto correct..... title was supposed to say "pest?"

I'll start by saying I've only seen this thing 3 times. Each time before it's moved before I can take a picture.

It's about the size of a peanut out of the shell, dark colored, Top looks like a spotted pattern and bottom looks like a snails foot.

What might it be? Good or bad?

Cool. Does it have a hard shell? I googled pictures and it looks similar except mine is so dark?

I can't see for sure in your picture, but it also might be some type of cowrie.
I think stomatella snail seems more likely, though.
