They are doing awesome but the leathers and acans are not as well as thw dunkins and frog spawns. I have a small torch as wellDunkins, frog spawns, Kenya trees, zoas, some acans
Kalkwasser would raise pH and supply enough Alk. You could dose a bit and see what the Alk level / pH does. You have got a skimmer?Dunkins, frog spawns, Kenya trees, zoas, some acans

I was looking into Kalkwasser but was hesitant because it can go south real quick if not done right.Red octopus 300 sss
I never had an issue, but used an industrial dosing unit for 9 years. If you limit the size of the reservoir, yes it’s a bit of a pain but at least you can sleep at night.I was looking into Kalkwasser but was hesitant because it can go south real quick if not done right.
Do you recommend a unit for a 220 tank 40 gal sumpI never had an issue, but used an industrial dosing unit for 9 years. If you limit the size of the reservoir, yes it’s a bit of a pain but at least you can sleep at night.
Nope. I’ve been out of this game for 5 years and a heck of a lot has changed technology wise. With any luck someone “recent” will pipe up. My new tank only needs 200mls Kalkwasser a day to maintain pH 8.2 and because there’s only a bit of coralline and a few frags in there, that’s plenty to keep up. So I just use a crappy doser. I check the doser daily and Alk / Cal are rock solid.Do you recommend a unit for a 220 tank 40 gal sump

You are right. That makes sense. I did not have all the info needed to do it properly. I was told that it real easy to overdose your tank with Kalk so I stayed away from it. But from what I'm reading now it seems fairly easyWhat do you mean "it can go south real quick if not done right"?
It's the same as anything else you dose, you start slow and/or use a calculator to determine a starting dose, then adjust as appropriate.
Granted, if you pour a 1000ml into a 10g tank, it's not going to be good, but who would do that.
