PH boost and stability with Miracle Mud

Started using it and it’s been 2 weeks my PH in frag tank is steady between 7.9-8.Not sure what’s in miracle mud that is doing this..only thing I changed is lighting Refugium 24/7 instead of night and dosing brightwell ferrion alternate days.

Keeping the light on 24/7 means photosynthesis 24/7, which means constant oxygen production and thus a more stable pH. Probably nothing to do with the mud. Also, adding iron supplements usually means better growth on the macroalgae, which means more photosynthesis.

I agree with you but there is something in there that boosting and stabilizing PH not sure why it js

That's what I'm saying. The mud probably isn't contributing to much. It's most likely the change in light schedule.

How have you come to that conclusion when the other 2 changes you made would contribute to stable pH?

Are you monitoring alkalinity?

what was the pH range without the mud?
