I got some seachem marine buffer for my nano, mixed it into a cup of water and then put it in my tank. Now I have litle white specs flying all over the place. Will it eventually clear up like when I added the sand, or did I add it to the tank the wrong way?

yes, just got one today with the pH buffer. its by tropic marin, kinda confusing but for the most part it work I guess lol. this is my post on a local club forum:

Got a alkalinity test, altho this ones more confusing than any of the others I have, its from tropic marin. so it says to put drop until the water turns from green to red/orange. on the 6th drop is changed color from green, but not as dark as the orange/red thats on the box. it says each drop = one degree of hardness. so I guess its around 6dKH, then under that it says 7.5 english degree, not sure what number Im supposed to be looking at. I also got some seachem marine buffer.

after watching the tank for a while, the specs are air bubbles. what causes that? i thought it was cause the pump was pumping faster than the chamber was getting filled, but its completely submerged

Microbubbles are caused by alot of things. In your case i would say it is water falling over your overflow, the water falling over the teeth is enough to cause them. Then they are being carried through the system back into the main tank by the return pump.

i wouldnt think they'd break before getting over there...
it goes through a sponge, under a baffle, up through RR, over the second baffle and into the pump chamber. I can move the overflow up and down in the nano, which would increase or decrease how fast the waster was going into the back chambers. would that help?

I think that just adjusts the water level inside the tank. Try adding more water to the system, raise the level in the pump chamber.
