I was calibrating my ph probe and it was recommended to have the solutions at the tank temperature so I hung them in the tank with a magnet. I left for a min and the Kole tang pulled the ph 7 solution into the water. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/milwaukee-ph-calibration-fluid-single-use-packet.html

Is this toxic I can not find the ingredients not listed http://www.milwaukeeinst.com/site/msds/ma9007.pdf

@Randy Holmes-Farley

I saw they have phosphate in them maybe? http://www.labchem.com/tools/msds/msds/LC12370.pdf shows .68% Potassium Phosphate, Monobasic

60 gallons of water in my tank testing phosphate now.

Phosphate tested at 0.477 PPM and it is normally 0 what should I do? I have a large gfo reactor how long will it take to remove?

Just used 36 drops of phosphate RX hopefully this locks up all of the phosphates quickly.

Id say the best course of action is a large water change and run some fresh carbon to pull any toxics out

All corals look fine except the sps. The clam is shut mostly. I think my quick use of phosphate RX will help.

Yikes. Hopefully everything ends up okay. I don’t bother with temperature correction but with ph calibration. Over the temp range we are working in it is only a tenth or so error. Not worth the trouble for me.

Ph calibration solution I believe is phosphoric acid. The corals immediate effect may have been from a large drop in ph and alkalinity.
