If I bring my water to the LFS in a sandwich bag have them test it will ph have a slight dip during transportation? My ph when it gets tested always sits around 7.9.

Many people don’t even test ph, I use API ph kit, seems to get good reviews, the pens work out very expensive, with all the storage fluids and calibration fluids needed, the probes need replacing often, and they don’t seem that accurate either.Awesome thank you for your help!
They sold me eight.four should I even use it? I don’t have a good ph tester yet that’s why I go to lfs every FridayYes, that drop is normal, and a test around 7.9 at the LFS is OK.
No, the ph you have seems good, if it’s still 7.9 after being in a sealed bag. They sold me eight.four should I even use it? I don’t have a good ph tester yet that’s why I go to lfs every Friday

Even if it wasn’t good, using a ph buffer is not ideal, the ph boost will be temporary and play havoc with your alkilinity.

Awesome thank you for that I am new it’s been up for about 4 months now and never had a fish tank before so I really listen to what people tell me especially at the lfsMany people don’t even test ph, I use API ph kit, seems to get good reviews, the pens work out very expensive, with all the storage fluids and calibration fluids needed, the probes need replacing often, and they don’t seem that accurate either.
As long as you have good surface movement and the room the tank is in is well aired, with a window open if possible and is not full of people, then your ph should be fine, increasing your ph above the measures I have just stated is a deep rabbit hole, and you are only looking at a small increase if your ph is already at a good range.
If a new reefer, your time could be better spent worrying about other parameters and keeping them stable, you will get far better results for your tank.
You will soon learn to listen to a few people, then make up your own mind as there are more than one way to do things.Awesome thank you for that I am new it’s been up for about 4 months now and never had a fish tank before so I really listen to what people tell me especially at the lfs
No offence to your LFS but in my experience they are not the most reliable places for information, listen to what they say but as you have done in this case, do a little more research before acting.

Would the ph drop if transported in something like a glass container that is filled completely full (no air)?
