PH is Trending Downward - looking for insight

Hey there fellow reefers!

My tank (RS625) is about 3 months old and Its in the ugly stage. My PH is rising and falling as expected but its been definitely trending downward over the last week.

Is there a known process that could cause this? I'm trying to get some cheato to help avoid the large dips at night but Algae Barn is sold out.

What am I missing? Thx!

Most likely is calibration drift, but could be lowering alkalinity or rising CO2 in your home air.

Alk has been holding steady at 8.3. Probe is brand new and has been calibrated

The brand new probe is the likely culprit. Wait about a week and recalibrate.

PH probes really should come with instructions to put them in tank water for one week, then calibrate. But they don’t.
