Hey everyone.
I have a red sea max 250 (65gal). My ph has always been on the high side but I have recently moved and it is now running even higher. I have had a high ph of 8.5 and as low as 7.8 in the past 48 hours. In general my ph sits at a low of 8.19 and high at 8.39. I am sure the low ph of 7.8 came from my apartment being locked up with no windows open for a 24 hour period. Is my normal 8.19-8.39 a issue or is that a good range. My all is in the 10 range ca in the 420 range and mag in the 1400 range with a stable temp of 78.7 and will range from 77.9- 79.
Thanks everyone

IMHO the most effective maens to raise of the most important reason pH is high is how effective the plant life (algae, macros) are at consuming co2.

I thinkyou values are reasonable.

Nope. Everything seems happy. I am not looking to fix something if its not broken. I was just wondering if that seems exceptable
Thanks

If everything looks ok I wouldn't worry about it. You'd probably cause more problems by adding things to stabilize the ph.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I think you're just fine. You didn't mention what you are doing to maintain alk and calc, but if you are a two part user, the only thing I'd do is to use a 2 1/4 cups of baking soda made up to one gallon with RO/DI water as your alk solution. Baking Soda has a slightly lower pH than Soda Ash. This concentration is the same equivalence as any of the typical "Alk" two-parts,but will help in slightly lowering pH.

Looks to me you are fine i would be more concerned with your alkalinty level which helps stabilize ph. Make sure you have good flow were the water ripples at surface. BUt you are okay with what you have.
