I had the same issue. I used vinegar. Look it up. There was s a really good dosing chart and my ph rose slowly and I stopped when it got to where I wanted it 8.3. It has stayed there since then

PLEASE follow the instructions! I have read so many posts about chunks and whatnot! It's like they don't even read the directions! Even my 6 year old grandson knows that! Separate the layers like it says. I use mine in my doser, but if you don't have one still separate it and seal it up in a jug. Dose from it.
