so my ph fluctuates from 7.8 all the way down to 7.72 never goes higher than 7.8 i have a h380 lighting my refugium it comes on at 11pm turns off at 11am my g4 pros come on at 1pm turn off at 8 pm then a 2 hour moonlight period before turning off completely i would like to get my ph around 8.1 or higher i heard it promotes coral growth any help will be aprreciated thnks

The only real way to affect pH in reef aquaria is to control dissolved CO2 in the water. CO2 and pH in reef aquaria have an inverse relationship: the higher the CO2, the lower the pH. The lower the CO2, the higher the pH.

There are several ways to decrease CO2 levels, thereby increasing pH. One way is to decrease the overall CO2 concentration in your home. You can accomplish this by opening windows or installing an air exchanger.

Another option is to route air with low CO2 into your skimmer. You can do this by running your skimmer's air intake outdoors, installing a CO2 scrubber with soda lime media on the intake, or perhaps doing both.

Another way is by using alkalinity additives. Carbonate additives (soda ash) and additives that contain hydroxide (kalkwasser, sodium hydroxide) all raise pH, in part because they are basic, but also in part because of they way they supplement alkalinity.

Tried opening the window but my airtime t is towards the back of the building not much air flow would the brs co2 scrubber be good ?
