I want to grab a really cheap pH meter to make sure my NSW has been aerated enough after using muriatic acid to lower alk. Doesn’t need to be super accurate, just ball park to make sure it was aerated enough. Recommendations? Or is, say, 24hrs enough and the ph meter isn’t necessary?

I have used some cheap meters in the past. The problem I had was that they needed to be calibrated every time. This made them great for checking a bunch of tanks at the LFS but at home when I only needed to test 1 tank it got annoying to recalibrate every time. I might consider a hanna pH checker. You use a reagent every time but you won't have to calibrate each time.

I would personally use a basic API test to confirm the pH.
I mixed lots of acid water acclimating fish at the LFS we would use muriatic acid to drop the pH to 6.5 and then immediately transfer fish from their bags into the low pH water discarding the ammonia-filled bag water, and acclimate them to regular system water afterward. The pH would usually stabilize within an hour.
