Considering rising atmospheric Co2 levels what is the ph of the ocean now?

I was actually just reading about this, the PH of the ocean will vary slightly based on location, but on average the ocean sits at around 8.1 PH today.

So i guess we shouldn't expect more than that when we open our house windows?

Keep in mind, you're comparing an aquarium, in a home with a 14x14 foot room (or however big your area where you have the tank is) to the entire ocean which spans the whole earth. Things that make a HUGE impact on our tanks, could have no effect on the oceans whatsoever.

This line of thinking would presume that you keep your tank at the same alkalinity level as the ocean, which is 6.6-6.7 dKH (Pilson, 1998).
