I have a similar one that I got a couple years ago to test ph of a black water tank I was trying in my liquid rock well water as api tests were taking to long. No matter how much tannins I added or acid the water always seemed to bounce back after a day or so. I know my kh/gh is high too. I gave up on that idea. I didn't want to buy an ro/do for such a small portion of my tanks. The tester seemed to work fine at that time. I broke it out to test my new saltwater tank and got three different results after recalibrating it 3 times. Not sure if that means it's not working because of the salt content or because it's cheap.

It's going to be a case of you get what you pay for.

It will be a single point calibration, so you'll need to make a calibration buffer and then adjust it by using the little adjustment screw on the back.

If you mix 3.8g of household borax in 1 litre of RODI water you'll have something close to pH 9.2 which you could use to give it a twirl.

Any one using ones that 5 in 1 some 7 in 1 or a link to one you use and is good and reliable. I maybe wrong but I thought I seen one that did ph/ salinity/ temp

i bought calibration fluid 4.0, 7.0, 10.0.

Adjust for 7 and then see how it measures the 4 and 10.
You may find calibrating using the ph 10 gives more accurate readings for seawater.
Yeah I did. Pretty sure its not accurate because its cheap. 3 different attempts to calibrate and test, multiple different readings some close...ish.

OOfh yeah if it wont read properly after several attempts of calibration then it is probably just really cheap.
I try to remember to calibrate mine often but any time I to it meter is reading correctly so I just let it ride.
