Hey fellow reefers,
as I am gathering parts for my CR I need an additional pH probe for it. I have one in my sump for my DT but for my CR should I get an additional probe or go with another company like

I just want performance. My pH probe on my apex works great. I will need to by an additional module and the probe also if I go with apex.

If you don't have your heart set on using a pH controller for your CaRx, you don't need one and will have better results without it. You can just tune it to run 24x7 not caring or knowing what the pH is - it is more reliable this way. There are some thoughts linked in a Google doc in my signature.

If you want to use a pH controller, then Milwaukee is as good as any... still hobby grade probes that drift and fail over time, but not unlike any others.

I forgot you had a great CR document thank you I love reading up on gear.

You are probably thinking of somebody else if you saw a great document. I stopped worrying about CaRx pH more than a decade ago... just a waste of my time. :)

i remember you telling someone about the link under your sig. Any document you took time and willing to share with other is great imo. :)

If you go with a second pH probe on your Apex, you can remove your ORP probe and reprogram that port to read a second pH probe. If you want to keep the ORP probe, you‘ll need a PM1 module to read a second pH probe.

The one you linked to above is just a pH monitor. If you go stand alone, separate from your Apex, you would want a stand alone pH controller instead...

I was wonder what the difference was between monitor and controller. Probably easier to get another pH on my apex and control it there

Which Apex do you have? Is it the full Apex or an Apex EL, Lite or Jr? If your Apex is any of the latter and does not have a port to run an ORP probe, then you’ll need a PM1 module to run an additional pH probe.

Ah, so if you run a second pH probe on your Apex EL, you will need a PM1 module in order to do so.

my only worry is on my apex brain every spot is being used I do have aquabus slots left on m y EB832 and on my FMK. Can I plug a PM1 module into one of those?
