pH probe going wild; New probe needed, or just a recalibration?

Hi all! I got a used Apex Classic over the summer and it's all been working great. But here recently my pH levels haven't been anywhere consistent as to what they normally are.

The probe is the default Neptune probe...Do I need a new probe or just a recalibration?

How 'wild' have the swings been? I'd start with gently cleaning the tip of the probe, and then calibration.

I usually run from 8.1-8.3 during the cycle of a day. Yesterday I never got above 8 and it held steady all day. I see it every few days or so, then goes back to working?

Definitely clean it, and calibration is never a bad idea. But that doesn't seem terribly erratic to me. Mine was blipping high and low enough to trigger alarms, but it was always very brief. Turns out most likely an issue with my old Apex Lite head unit.

Always soak in ro and then recalibrating before assuming it no longer good

I second that. I recalibrate all probes monthly. It’s too important to be off significantly.
