PH Probe replacement question?

Hello, I do not know if this is the right place to ask this question but I am looking a bit of help.

I should have asked this before buying this but,,, Anyway my Neighbor gave me an old Reef Fanatic PH Controller, the probe had been left out of water for about two years after I attempted to clean and calibrate that it was still a full point plus off. So its Junk.

I couldn't find another PH probe for this unit from that company as they no longer make this unit,
So I bought this probe Apex Lab Grade pH Probe - Neptune Systems they have the same connector, Will this work do you think?

And if so,
I wanted to set this to 8.0-8.3 PH, and plug my cheap Jeabo Dosing pump in to it, this feeds ALK and Calc in to my aquarium,
has anyone tried anything like this? could this work?

Swapping the probe should be ok, but I dont know about the rest of the apex programming bits

The Apex probe will work as long as you have the right connection
