So i have a GHL KH Director i will be taking offline for 2 months. Was wondering if the PH Probe has to be stored in liquid? And if so what? RODI water, Saltwater, Vinegar?

Probe does have to be stored in liquid. Tank water should suffice, otherwise you can purchase storage solution :)

what about freezing temps like a garage?

Do not store a pH probe in RODI or Distilled water - salts and keeping it wet are important. I use Hanna storage solution and stick the probes in flower water tubes. so that I don't have to use as much.

I've always was told, and I could be wrong, that you can simply use pH 4.0 calibration fluid too.

Inexpensive storage solution and probe storage bottles are available from BRS and others too I'm sure. The bottles don't leak because there is a nice tight fitting o-ring around the probe. I've used them several times and they don't leak even if you turn the probe upside down. My understanding too, is that the probe must be kept wet. Presumably that's why every pH probe I've ever ordered arrived in a storage bottle filled with storage solution.
