My tank sits at 7.8 ph constantly. I plan on adding clown fish once it is done cycling as well as some easy to care for corals. Everywhere I read that my ph should be between 8-8.4 for these things. Should I be looking to up my ph from 7.8 or will the fish and coral be able to adapt to this. If I have to raise my PH what are some tricks to do so. Thanks.

Fresh air. Opening a window in the room the tank sits in helps, but obviously not always practical. Another way is to attach an air hose to your skimmer and run it to fresh air. This is what i do and it has worked out fairly well. My PH usually ran btwn 7.8-7.9. After adding the air hose to my skimmer, I am consistently running 8.2. GL

Do you think you could send a picture of how you have the air hose? I am just wondering how to do it.

Currently I have a 13.5 fluval saltwater tank and don't have a skimmer with tank. Is their any other options.

Sure. I bought this 1/4 inch hose from home depot for $3.50. Then i run the hose to a crack in the window.

Wow your tank is beautiful. I guess the answer is they can adapt to the ph lol

Maybe. Or they can thrive despite imperfect conditions.
