Hello all,

So i started a new tank a few weeks ago and with it came a new apex. After setting it up I immediately noticed the PH was reading in the 7.8 range. So i checked my alk and of course it was super low at the 4.3 Dkh range. I started raising it slowly back up to 8dk over the past week and yesterday was my first day not to dose, and i'm already back to 7.85. I also have a seneye system that i used for PAR readings but i wanted to use it for Ammonia while the tank is cycling. The readings from the seneye vs apex are waaaaayyyy off. Here are my readings from both systems.

My apex reads 7.85 and my seneye reads 8.42.

I don't know which one to use... i don't plan on using the seneye forever.

The pH probe could be bad or uncalibrated. Buy some calibration solutions and go to town. In a new cycling tank, your parameters should line up with whatever salt mix you are using.
