So recently I have gotten an Apex system, I used to check my PH with a Hannah checker the red digital one I always had a 8.4 - 8.3 reading with it, mt apex reading is 1 point lower all the time. Not sure which one to trust, I will say my sps growth is slow so could the apex be correct??
I may buy another test kit to compare.

Presumably you mean 0.1 point difference, right?

That seems too small to worry about with hobby equipment, and both values fall into the "perfect" range (IMO).

I would not rely on a pH test kit.

So my PH reading is 7.6 with apex and ph hand held Hannah meter shows 8.4, now I have been having issues with sps and I'm wondering if this is why I just got the apex and have always relied on the ph checker till I got the apex..so not sure which to believe.

Lots of folks have problems with pH measurement with aquarium controllers. Not sure why. Might, in some cases, be faulty temperature corrections.

Make sure both devices properly read both pH calibration solutions AFTER calibration is complete.
