I purchased a controller and have been monitoring my PH for about a week. It is pretty stable most of the day at 8.22 however during the very early hours of the morning it drops to 7.75 I'm currently using a new ATO with 5 gallons of RO/DI water and 1 Tsp per gallon of BRS Kalkwasser. My Calcium is at 400 ppm and Alk is at 10 dkh. What if anything should I do to get the PH raised at the early hours of the morning. I've read that PH should not go below 7.8 Thanks in advance.

Def does kalkawasser and. There is always a PH shift from lights on to lights off

I understand the shift between lights on to lights off. From what I have read on this forum PH should be 7.8 to 8.5 Because I am lower than 7.8 early morning I'm trying to figure out what to do. I will start by adding a couple of more tsp of kalk to my 5 gallon top off mix. I was dosing 1 tsp per gallon. Does this sound correct?

The kalk you add will depend on what the tank consumes. I use kalk at night to keep pH up, but it's based off my tanks demands. What does your tank consume with alk a day?

Hart24601 I'm not really sure what my tank consumes per day. I have always just kept alk in acceptable parameters. I guess I'll break out the test kits and figure out what my tank is consuming. For the most part my alk and calc have always been pretty stable with the exception of the alk tending to be on the higher side of recommended parameters.
