Hi there, hope you can help. How does PH swings affect my aquarium? I have a seneye reef monitor, in the morning my PH is around 8.05 and slowly climbs to around 8.25 by nighttime is this ok? It seems to be this pattern daily. If not how can I stabilise the PH for a more consistent reading?
Thanks

Those are pretty much where you want to be. Mine swings between 8.1-8.2. Generally I think most people are happy if theirs swing between 8.1-8.3.

Ph this month 8.31 low and 8.48 high. Up and down every day. Most days 8.33 to 8.44

Here is a photo from my APEX PH monitor...

You can dose Kalkwasser or run refugium lighting at night to help minimize swings.. better yet do both ;)

No fuge.
But I do run kalk in my ato which helps keep things stable.
I only run 1/4 teaspoon of kalk in my 10 gallon ato. It does help with the ph but does nothing for alk and cal.
Tank ran 7.7- 7.9 maybe 8 if I was lucky before the low kalk water was used. Anyway for me it keeps it stable.
I dose esv 2 part and will switch to a calcium reactor when demand is met.
Tanks almost 5 months old now and doing well and most important of all it has stable parameters and is growing.
