Will more wattage and par in your sump help to keep your Ph up? I had a par38 but was getting too much light spill into my skimmer. My ph was around 8.2/8.3
Now I have a small light to keep my chaeto growing but my Ph is 8.1 at the highest dipping to 8.0 at night.

What is everyones experience with this?

I'm no expert so this is my hypothesis. CO2 can lower ph so in higher lighting, there is more algae growth consuming more CO2 and keeping ph higher. With less light, there is less CO2 uptake keeping ph relatively lower.

Good luck and Happy Reefing.

Yes, more light = more photosynthesis = more oxygen released, more co2 absorbed = higher ph.

I would not chase that number though, above 8 is great.
