Hi all,

I am looking for a reliable pH tester. I have Red Sea tests for the other majors testers, but am using an API test for my pH. I keep getting what I think is 7.8 on that test & I don’t trust it. Problem is, I can’t find a pH tester, liquid or probe, with excellent reviews. Most seem to have not-so-good reviews. Seems with any product imaginable I can find 4.3+ star items. Not so much here. I just want dependable & accurate - doesn’t have to be inexpensive. Please, what do you recommend?

Thanks!

I have the Pinpoint , Hanna HI98103 and their new multi parameter tester. All work. The probe testers are only as good as the calibration

I use salfert ph test kit and it seems fine to use

Same here. I like their tests.
Yep I’ve had no problems with salfert I use it for all my water tests

I think it’s your last step before using hanna products

Unlike TDS meters, pH meters are prone to difficulties. We never recommend people buy very inexpensive pH meters, although there are many available. Among reasonably priced meters, we've had the best luck with this one:

Great, thank you. I’ll give Salifert a try, and consider one of the probes mentioned here as well.
