I’m in the process of gathering my testing equipment together. I’m looking at pH testers and I see that Hanna has 3 different ones, a pocket tester, checker and checker plus. Any advice is appreciated!

I would go with the pocket tester over the checker and checker plus. The pocket tester doubles as a thermometer and also has a .1 resolution where the other two have a .2 resolution. meaning there's less variance with the pocket tester over the other two. For example if all three testers give you a reading of 7.7 (recommended minimum for reef) with the pocket tester you can be assured that the lowest your actual pH will be to your reading is 7.6 and highest 7.8. On the other hand with the other two a reading of 7.7 can be 7.5 or 7.9. spend the extra money and get the most accurate one.
