Hi there, I recently cycled my tank and added my first two fish yesterday along with my first batch of inverts. It is a reefer 450 if you are wondering. Everything in the tank appears to be doing fine However, my ph probe is testing the water at 7.62-7.75. It fluctuates throughout the day. after doing some reading I learned that this problem is usually due to alkalinity being too high, but when I tested it, it came as 10 dkh. Does anybody knows what my problem is. I'm worried my water will become acidic and harm the tank inhabitants, Please advise.

Too much carbon dioxide in room can cause this; outside air and fewer people is a remediation strategy. Assume salt you use has proper ph and probes are correctly calibrated.

High alkalinity doesn't cause low pH. If anything, maintaining higher alkalinity will increase pH to an extent.

Take a cup of tank water, put it outside, and aerate it with an airstone for 10 minutes. Re-test the pH. If it's around 8.2 or higher, you have high CO2 in your house, which causes low pH. If the reading is not around 8.2 or higher, there's something wrong with your pH probe.
