ph went from 8.35 to 8.5

Salifert tested all parameters, they are all safe. I am fighting a brown hair algae outbreak, and two changes I made were pulling my lights a little further back and making my skimmer run with slightly more power. Fish do not appear stressed. Using red sea coral pro salt mixed to 33ppm (double checked with apex and refractor). I used 20ml of white vinegar in my 236g tank but all that did was eat up my alkalinity a bit without dropping ph. I am at a loss and could use some direction.

I wouldn't do anything to lower your ph, more than likely that's a slightly inflated reading even a salifert test has a margin of error, im curious why do you want to lower your ph?

Stability and under 8.4 is what all the things said for the fish. I’m just trying to make sure they’re safe and happy.

I wouldn’t be too concerned. My ph hit a high of 8.7 some days and a low of 8.4. No issues except amazing coral growth.

I mean the apex is constantly monitoring so…and also it has consistently been within .5 of 8.35 I just checked the history. Anyway I gather it’s not a big deal from the replies. I don’t know how it affects fish so I just wanted to be sure they are safe. I’m the person who reads the guides, not smart enough to write them.

Your fine and being proactive and seeking information is not wrong, thats a good ph value and if it tops out at , great that that's good too, its hard to reach a "high" ph without trying, it's the low ph that is generally the "killer" I think your doing good!
