Ph

Run a Co2 scrubber. BRS sells a kit, you would attach the air intake line from your skimmer to it.

What is your ph and alkalinity?

I would not worry too much about 7.9 ph When are you testing your ph? When your lights are out you will get a lower reading. Also I low ph can be caused by excess co/2 in your house. You can open windows and air out your house or some people attach there air intake to the skimmer from outside. I would not chase the ph I think you are fine.

Please don't diddle around with pH with buffers. If you have a CO2 problem, like Mike said, run tubing outside to feed your skimmer.

7.9 pH is OK for a reef tank.
