I hope I’m posting in the correct area. I’m struggling to get my PH up as close 8.3 as possible. I’m dosing every few days with reef builder. I just done a water change, and my PH is 8.14. My PH ranges between 7.9-8.15. Any ideas on how to get it closer to 8.3?

bet its the oxygen levels in your home... windows closed, heat running? i had issues with my ph not getting above 7.9 on a good day... what i did was i looked up on coralvue website the size of the air intake hose for my skimmer and ordered one on amazon for 10$ for 10ft... i replaced the intake hose and moved the silencer out from under my closed sump to near a window for now(eventually ill run it outside) within 4 hours it jumped from 7.9 to 8.2 the next day i was up to 8.34 and my corals even looked more open and happier... hope this helps

You're good in that range. Stability is key. Mine goes from 7.8-8.0 now.

Run intake from your skimmer to the outside of your home for fresh air.

I know when I looked on the coralvue website I needed a 5/16 hose, they wanted 1.50 a foot and 22$ to ship... amazon had a food grade hose 10ft for 9.95 and free 2 day shipping with prime...

Here's what I did for now....

You are going to need an oversized skimmer imo bc that long hose kills efficiency

You can make it look professionally done or hire a handy man. I just had cable company drill through my wall for my wife’s television shows. I didn’t complain

Just get it out from the cabinet into open air and see if that helps, that'll let you know if o2 is actually your issue.. cheap fix if it is and no chemicals need to be dosed into your tank

My plan was to go down through the basement and through the foundation wall with the pvc.. have you ever had any bugs get stuck in the hose? I was thinking about putting a screen over it when I do it

Originally I put a screen up, but over time it got rid of it. No problems with bugs. I put mine at a slight downward angle so rain had a harder time coming in. Make sure it in an area where pesticides/fertilizers are sprayed

Your Ph is perfectly fine. Stop chasing Ph numbers as you'll do more damage than good in the end.

I agree with this as well. I have 8 people in my house so CO2 was bringing my Ph to 7.7-7.9. Yours is really good actually

I stopped testing ph roughly 5 years ago. Keep your alk right and balanced and enough oxygenation of your water it will be fine
