hey all,
I started 2 part dosing around 6 weeks ago. Seems to be going well- alk stabilizing around 9 dKh and calcium around 450.
My pH historically hung around 8.0. I've noticed on my pinpoint that it's dropping over past few weeks to around 7.7ish. I figured the pinpoint needed calibration and was surprised tonight when it was spot on. However- my redsea pH test says 8.0-8.1 and API around the same.
No die offs, though I've noticed over the past few weeks some softies didn't seem as happy (kenya tree- however singularia polyps shrooms etc all ok). The SPS/LPS are all happy and growing.
I've been feeding about the same though I know a lot of my reefroids and suspension foods end up in my sump media.. perhaps I need to really shut the system down when I suspension feed..
Advice? I always considered a pH of <8.0 to be a bad thing.. is this the case or should I be ok with 7.7 if that indeed is the true pH?
thanks in advance.
