Hello,
Please see my ph,
Is this ideal? or should it be a rock hard number?
Ph drops from 10pm to 9am.
Lighting is radion led with 4 t5 blue plus
6am lights on, 6pm lights off.
I don't use kalk or a refugium.
Alk 8.5
Calcium 420
Mag 1450
Thx!

Normal. pH typically drops at night.

It is normal for pH to drop at night because there is no photosynthesis occurring. Carbon dioxide in the water forms carbonic acid lowering the pH. Photosynthesis uses the dissolved carbon dioxide to make energy.

Wow - I have to use a CO2 reactor and still dont get those results. Show off :)

Nighttime swings lower are common. Your “lows” are equivalent or better than my highs.

Swings are quite normal. Your peaks are a lot higher than most member's tanks, I'd imagine! (That's a good thing).

Though we have one local member who uses a couple of pH probes, a kalk reactor and a calc reactor in combination to keep his pH at a rock solid 8.4, all while maintaining his alk at a constant level - the highlighted areas where were he was messing with his set up.

So swings are not a big deal.
I was under the impression sable everything!
But sounds like I'm good.

Stability os key, but pH swings are really impossible to avoid.
