My PH had been a bit low - I would say generally in range of 7.85 to 8.1. I worked three inputs to raise it 1) airing out the fish tank room with external fresh air, 2) mixing Kalkwasser in my ATO reservoir, and 3) using CO2 absorption media on a scrubber attached to my skimmer inlet. Far and away, it was 3) that has brought it up to 8.2+. I know every tank/environment is different, but I would advocate CO2 scrubbing.

Yeah, I do the same thing with a CO2 reactor attached to my skimmer. My PH remains constant at 8.3 all the time now. Definately worth looking into if your lower PH issues are related to excessive CO2 in the air (my tank is in the basement with little to no ventilation).
