I don't know why this is happening. I always have 1 day a month that my ph dips down to 7.7 and then rises again up to 8 to 8.2 the rest of the month. I'm keeping a close eye on the ph level and everything in the tank to make sure that there are no signs of sick fish or corals. any thoughts. I have a window open at this time to see if I get an increase in ph. it's at 7.87 per my PH probe. I did recalibrate it this afternoon to see if there was any chance it might be off. I also tested with the API ph test kit. both came out the same.

Once a month I get a credit card bill. Followed by some heavy breathing. Not enough to change my Ph. I would suspect some outside source.

Can it be the outside lunar cycle?

don't know what it could be. I have a co2 scrubber on the eshopps skimmer now. don't know if i'll see any good results. so far the ph has gone from 7.75 yo 7.76 and waiting to see if it keeps going up. I have it pulling air from the skimmer and back into the skimmer. if no good results then I'll try just pulling air from the room at that point. i'm hoping in 20 minutes when it updates to the next reading it will go up another .01 or.02 and etc.

Recycling skimmer air may be self defeating if the skimmer outflow has as much or more CO2 as the room air, and you lose the O2 benefit. I’d switch to room air or outside air and try.

Wouldn't outside air lower PH even more?
Indoor air is generally higher in CO2 than outdoor air, depending on how well your home is sealed.
Since CO2 lowers pH, pulling in outdoor air could reduce the amount of CO2 being dissolved into the aquarium by your skimmer and allow your pH to rise.

Hope that makes sense

Outdoor air plus a scrubber more than indoor air plus a scrubber, yes.
For all 10.9
Ca 440
Mg is 1350.

I have plumty of flow for surface agitation. Only thing I can think of is my skimmer is just junk. I have has high a alk since I started the tank. 10 to 13 ppm for alk.i have never seen my ph go higher than 7.8 ppm for ph
Lowest 7.69 to 7.8 with apex probe and the api test kit for ph only goes a low as 7. I don't trust the strips.
