One of these days I'm going to have to see your tank sean. Whats your opinion on super high ph? Like 8.7-8.9? Ph seams to be the new thing. The science is solid. "Worth" is the question. I vote no for me. It may be "worth" it to you based on your environmental situation.
Make it recirculating. The media will last 3-4x longer. What is the best way to hook up a Co2 scrubber?
One of theses days for sure. I use to get nervous when the pH hit 8.5. Now not so much. I don't actively try to control it one way or the other. I haven't seen enough information on high pH to make a decision. My main concern with high pH is not the effect on coral but the effect on the other livestock in the tank. Will my fish be healthy in a high pH environment long term? One of these days I'm going to have to see your tank sean. Whats your opinion on super high ph? Like 8.7-8.9? Ph seams to be the new thing.
I could see where on a huge tank It would become costly also.
I buy the 7 pound bag at BRS for $35. I’m sure there are others that are cheaper but BRS is pretty reliable. Also what scrubber media do you use and where is the cheapest place to buy it?
I ran a reef at 7.8 for a long time. Growth may have been limited but 7.8 was not a barrier to my success. My ph started out it 7.89 I then started kalkwasser. I am now at 8.18 and am constiplating adding a Co2 scrubber?
Na, no need for it. lol, couldn't resist![]()
It does a pretty good job.
I hadn't thought about that, good point. One of theses days for sure. I use to get nervous when the pH hit 8.5. Now not so much. I don't actively try to control it one way or the other.
