Ph

I started a 60 gallon cube saltwater aquarium about a year ago. Everything looks good. The water is crystal clear and the fish seem healthy and happy. They swim, eat, sleep, and their appearances are vibrant..

Sure you're wondering what my question may be LOL..

Everything I've read and everything I see says my PH should be in the 8's.. I see posts from people wondering why their pH is so low and it's in the 7's...

I can't seem to raise my PH above 6.8.. is or should this be a concern being that everyone in the tank appear to be healthy and happy and the water is so clear you can't tell there is any in there???

Welcome! Glad you joined. Consistent pH is most important for fish, and perhaps means you'll take longer to acclimate inverts. IF you have corals, which you don't mention, that is why low pH will prevent strong skelaton formations - National Geographic had a wonderful write up last year (difference from 7.9 to 8.1 had me tweaking my system!) FOWLR nothing I've encountered (other than consistancy) should be a concern (unless you change to mixed-reef by adding corals)

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread under Forum > Member Aquariums and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you in Jacksonville:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
