Phanta Rhei pump

Just purchased one of the ECM42 pumps and I can't figure out how to make it pulse. According to the description on Unique Corals website it should have -Variable speed, Random, Pulse, Wave Mode. I can't figure out how to change modes LOL. Any help?

That came with the pump but it doesnt say how to change modes,only how to increase the flow.

Looks like in order to wave or pulse I need to spend an additonal $300 bucks on add-ons...
