PHE lighting

Mine doesnt have the defined red ring around the mouth yet cept for one... well its still faded... do these like high or low lighting? im trying to find a good spot so that they can get that red ring but just not sure where to put them. They are under 250watt 20k

right now mine are about 14" from 250watt 20k ushio i guess ill keep them there for a couple of weeks then if no color change ill move them to the sand

are you sure they are not just regular phe's/jokers? I have jokers and phe red rings both in high light. I dont think the phe/joker kind will ever get the red ring.

mine looks like the first pic but some of them have a really faded red ring

have you had them long? sometimes when I get new zoos it takes awhile for them to shine.mine are under 400w radiums on a coralvue ballast. the jokers are pretty close to the top and the red rings are on the bottom

Thanks! I think I have one just like it.. But its not purple.. More brownish I think...

Theyre under 250W MH. Theyre a bit under a shade. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I think I will do just that. In general, do palys and zoanthids prefer bright lighting?

usaly medium to high but i found that different zoas and palys like different lighting so i guess it just depends on certain ones
