phil_pl's new tank build

In the process of gathering equipment at the moment.
The tanks will be here in about 10 days.
90g DT 48"x18"24"
55g Sump 48"13"18"

Equipment will be:
Octopus Extreme 200 Skimmer
PM12 Mag Drive Return Pump
2 400w Ice Cap Ballasts and Pendents
Vortech Mp40w
1000gph double overflow

Im going to keep mostly SPS and LPS, I hope to get a calc reactor at a later time but until then...

Comments, ideas, suggestions?
I would love to have some input from people running like systems and/or equipment.

instead of using a cal+ reactor, i would use maybe a kalk drip system at first and then when your cal+ load exceeds the drip use, try a DIY 2-part.
thats what i did on my old 90g with a 30g sump and a 30g fuge.
worked great for me.

Sounds like youve got it down pretty good phil. Let us know if you need anything. Until the calcium reactor you can use Bulk reef supply two part it is cost efficient and easy to use.

i didnt even know about that i'll have to check out the two part
yea i need money so i dont have to wait to get all this stuff haha
you wouldnt happen to have any halides you want me to take off your hands?

the tank has arrived!!! but i cant upload pics yet the camera went with my dad to Canada

had to rearrange the room to accommodate the tank, tank vs tv for center of attention tank wins!!

Finally got some shots of the tank, its still cloudy from adding the sand, i'll but the sand in first next time:squigglemouth:

After using the octo skimmer i thought I would try the octo dual chamber reactor. I am very happy with the purchase.

got the skimmer in about a week ago
havent been able to run it yet since i dont have a return pump or an over flow but i looks really good in my sump
